What You Can Do About Your Body Acne: 4 Tips
Posted on: 17 February 2021
Body acne can make you feel self-conscious. You may have to wear a high neck shirt to hide your chest acne, or you may feel compelled to cover other parts of your body in order to hide your acne. Acne on your back, chest, thighs, arms, and buttocks can affect just about anybody. If you have body acne, there are things you can do to help clear up your acne. Read on for some tips to help clear up your acne.
1. Use A Body Wash
Stop using bar soap which can dry out your skin and lead to your skin producing more oil. When your skin produces more oil, you start to notice more breakouts. This can occur on any part of your body, including your face. If you're using a bar soap, stop using it and start using a body wash instead that helps to nourish your skin rather than dry it out. Look for a body wash that contains a moisturizer or other type of skin nourishing agent.
2. Dry Brush Your Skin
Dry brushing your skin can help increase cell production and can slough off dead skin. If you have a lot of dead skin cells on the body, it can hold in oils and clog your pores. Unclog your pores by dry brushing your skin daily or at least a few times per week to increase your cell production and to help unclog the pores on the body. When you dry brush your skin, work your way from the lower extremities and at your wrists, then work the brush in strokes leading up towards your heart.
3. Apply A Sheer Moisturizer
Apply a sheer moisturizer after you shower to help hold in moisture and to prevent your skin from drying out too much. Apply the moisturizer immediately after you get out of the shower to prevent dry skin from occurring.
4. Drink Water And Eat A Healthy Diet
Drinking water can help with your skin and clear up acne, as can eating a diet that is healthy and contains a lot of healthy fruits and vegetables. If you eat a cleaner diet, you'll notice a difference in your skin tone and texture and you'll notice a decrease in the amount of oil your skin is producing.
If you have body acne, stop covering up your body and start doing something to clear up your acne instead. Make an appointment with a dermatologist if your acne doesn't subside with the tips above, as you may need a different type of treatment to clear up your acne.
